A Piper PA-28 plane with pilot-reported engine failure landed on Long Island's Southern State Parkway; no injuries.

A small single-engine plane landed on Long Island's Southern State Parkway on Tuesday morning, after the pilot reported engine failure while approaching Republic Airport. The aircraft, a Piper PA-28, touched down on the eastbound lanes near Exit 33/Route 109 in East Farmingdale shortly before noon. Two people were onboard, including the pilot, at the time of landing, but no injuries have been reported. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) will investigate the cause of the emergency landing.
