88% of parents outside London support extending free lunches in primary schools in England, according to a National Education Union poll.

A poll for the National Education Union found that 88% of parents outside London support the provision of free lunches in primary schools across England. The survey, conducted by Survation, revealed that 52% of parents in England are cutting back on their food shopping and 33% reported having less food or less healthy food in their children's lunchboxes. The majority of parents and carers want the government to extend free school meals to all children in primary state schools in England.
