New Zealand energy firm Mercury reported a 27% drop in half-year net profit after tax to $174m, while increasing its renewable energy production by 7% to 4,817 GWh. Wind generation increased by 40% to 1,109 GWh. The company's total energy consumption is expected to reach 60% renewable by 2050. Mercury's electricity prices are set to rise from April 2024, while the company continues to collaborate with stakeholders to address affordability issues and support New Zealand's economy electrification.
