Husband and stepson convicted of manslaughter by gross negligence for failing to care for 71-year-old Dorothy Morgan, who died from acute kidney failure, sepsis, and pressure ulcers.

Dorothy Morgan's husband and stepson were convicted of manslaughter by gross negligence in Carlisle Crown Court for failing to provide basic care to the 71-year-old, who was found in an emaciated, malnourished, and dehydrated state in hospital. The court heard that Mrs. Morgan weighed only four-and-a-half stones and suffered from acute kidney failure, sepsis, and pressure ulcers, which caused her death.
