German World Cup-winning defender Andreas Brehme, who scored the winning goal in the 1990 final against Argentina, has passed away aged 63. Brehme, a key member of Lothar Matthäus' team, earned 86 caps for Germany and scored eight goals, including five at the World Cup and EUROs. As a club player, Brehme won the Bundesliga title in 1987 with Bayern Munich and the Scudetto in 1989 with Inter Milan. He also lifted the UEFA Cup in 1991. After his playing career, Brehme transitioned into coaching, leading Kaiserslautern to the UEFA Cup semifinals in 2000/01 and helping the team equal Bayern's league record for most wins at the start of a season in 2001/02.
