The Special Tribunal has declared the R113.2 million Gauteng Department of Health PPE contract awarded to private company LNG as invalid and unlawful, with the company ordered to repay the profits earned from the tender. The Special Investigating Unit (SIU) applied to the Special Tribunal to have the contract scrapped following an investigation into the department's affairs, which found a lack of competitive bidding process and unapproved deviations.
