New car registrations in the EU rose 12.1% YoY in January to 851,690 units, overcoming a 3.3% decline in December. Germany and Italy experienced the most growth, while the market share of battery electric cars increased to 10.9% from 9.5%. Hybrid-electric cars maintained their position as the second most popular choice among EU car buyers, claiming nearly 30% of the market.
