Thai Airways resumes direct flights to Colombo and Sri Lanka.

Thailand's national carrier, Thai Airways, has resumed direct flights to Colombo, Sri Lanka, marking its re-entry to the Sri Lankan market after a 3-year absence due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The airline has also announced plans to order 45 wide-body jets from Boeing and GE Aerospace, with deliveries starting in 2027, as part of its fleet expansion strategy. This order is crucial for replacing expiring leased and aging aircraft, and will increase Thai Airways' fleet size to 96 jets.
