Montgomery, 34, is charged with second-degree murder, assault, and witness tampering. At the start of the trial, his legal team informed the court that he intended to plead guilty to charges of abuse of a corpse and falsifying evidence. The judge denied a motion from the defense requesting to dismiss charges of second-degree murder and assault against Adam Montgomery.
