Global cybersecurity firm Kaspersky warns Filipinos about the risks of not scanning USB devices before plugging them into computers, as 36.8% of Filipino users have fallen victim to local threats from USB-related attacks in 2023. The Philippines ranks third in Southeast Asia for the highest number of users attacked by local threats, following Vietnam and Indonesia. Malware spread through removable media such as flash drives, CDs, and DVDs accounted for most of the incidents.
