Capital One Financial Corp. is reportedly considering acquiring credit card lender Discover Financial Services, which could mark Capital One's largest deal. The deal, if announced, would be one of the largest acquisitions globally this year, with Discover's market value at around $27.6 billion and Capital One's market capitalization at about $52.2 billion. Merger talks are ongoing, but there is no guarantee that a deal will be consummated.
