Canadian National and Canadian Pacific Kansas City file requests for conciliation amid ongoing negotiations with the union.

Canadian National (CN) and Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) have both filed requests for conciliation in ongoing collective agreement negotiations with the Teamsters Canada Rail Conference (TCRC). The two companies are seeking to address issues regarding work conditions, work/life balance, and crew availability. CN and CPKC have been negotiating since September 2023, with the negotiations involving approximately 3,280 and 6,000 workers, respectively. The collective agreements that the negotiations are based on expired at the end of 2023 but will remain in effect until new deals are reached.
