US sprint star Grant Holloway broke the world record in the 60-meter hurdles at the US Indoor Championships in New Mexico, finishing in 7.27 seconds. Holloway, the three-time 110m hurdles world champion and Olympic silver medalist, eclipsed his own previous world best of 7.29 seconds. In the women's 60m hurdles, Tia Jones equalled the existing world record with a time of 7.67 seconds in her heat. Both performances were achieved in the heat, with Jones winning the national title with a 7.68. Holloway did not compete in the final.
