Uruguay signed the NASA Artemis Accords as the 36th signatory on Feb. 15, 2024, at NASA headquarters in Washington, D.C.

Uruguay has become the latest nation to join the NASA's Artemis Accords, making it the 36th signatory to the agreement that outlines principles for safe space exploration. Uruguayan Foreign Minister Omar Paganini signed the accords at NASA headquarters in Washington, D.C. on February 15, 2024. The signing was attended by dignitaries including NASA Administrator Bill Nelson, U.S. Ambassador to Uruguay Heide Fulton, and State Department Assistant Secretary Kevin Sullivan.
