Kentucky House passes bills to enable Murray State, Eastern Kentucky universities to establish doctor & vet programs.

The Kentucky House has passed two bills that would allow Murray State University to establish a school of veterinary medicine and Eastern Kentucky University to offer degrees in osteopathic medicine. These new academic roles are intended to address shortages of doctors and veterinarians. The bills now move to the Senate, with funding and approval from the state Council on Postsecondary Education still to be resolved.
