Uganda negotiates oil product imports through Tanzania's Dar es Salaam port, ending imports via Kenya's Mombasa port.

Uganda is in talks with Tanzania to import all its oil products via Dar es Salaam, ending imports through Kenya's Mombasa port. Uganda's dissatisfaction with the current system, where 90% of fuel supplies are bought through Kenyan affiliates, has led to complaints of supply disruptions and high pump prices. In response, Uganda granted exclusive rights for petroleum product supply to a Vitol unit in November 2022.
