Multnomah County declares state of emergency, opens severe weather shelters ahead of potential snow overnight in Portland.

Multnomah County Chair Jessica Vega Pederson declared a state of emergency due to the potential for snow and cold in the Portland Metro Area. Four shelters will open with additional beds also being added to a year-round shelter. The state of emergency was declared at 6 pm local time on 15 February 2024, and affects the Portland Metro Area.
