Liberal Senator and former Defence Minister Linda Reynolds announced her retirement from politics ahead of the upcoming election. Reynolds, who has served in various roles for 40 years, including assistant minister for home affairs, minister for defence industry, minister for emergency management, minister for defence, and minister for government services, said her decision was made after reflecting on her past and future opportunities. She expressed gratitude for party members' support and pledged to help diversify and strengthen the party, as well as support Peter Dutton's bid for prime minister and Libby Mettam's for WA premier.
