Gullett, a first-round draft pick by the Cincinnati Reds in 1969, played nine seasons in the league, winning titles in 1975, 1976, and 1977. After his playing career, he served as the team's pitching coach from 1993-2005. Gullett dedicated 24 years to the Cincinnati Reds franchise as a player, coach, and minor league instructor.
