The US Bureau of Ocean Energy Management has selected two areas off the coast of Oregon for offshore wind energy production. The two areas, one 32 miles off the coast of Coos Bay and the other 18 miles off the coast of Brookings, cover a combined area of around 195,000 acres. The project aims to support the Biden administration's goal of deploying 30 gigawatts of offshore wind energy capacity by 2030.
