Singapore's government plans to refund S$7.5 million (US$5.5 million) in taxes collected by six government agencies since 2019. The Ministry of Finance discovered an inconsistency in the application of GST on 18 government fees and charges during an internal review. Six government agencies, including the Housing and Development Board, the Land Transport Authority, and the Urban Redevelopment Authority, are affected. The agencies will refund taxes based on transactions since 2019, and will make proactive refunds for transactions beyond the five-year period for which records are required.
