A Bonnet mushroom was observed growing on a living Rao's Golden-backed frog in India, marking the first such observation.

In a peculiar discovery in the foothills of the Western Ghats in India, a mushroom was observed growing out of the body of a Rao's Golden-backed frog. This marks the first time a mushroom has been spotted growing on a living organism. Although the frog was not captured, pictures were taken, and fungi experts identified the white growth as a Bonnet mushroom, which typically grows on dead and rotting wood.
