WestJet could face costly delays in receiving new aircraft from Boeing due to the halted production expansion at Boeing, following a panel blowout incident on a Boeing 737 Max plane last month. The incident has also led to delays in the delivery of nearly 24 earlier Max orders. WestJet's plans for fleet renewal are in jeopardy, as the older the aircraft, the more expensive and less efficient they become.
