Former FirstEnergy executives indicted in $60 million Ohio bribery scheme.
Two former executives of FirstEnergy Corp., the utility company at the center of the largest bribery scandal in Ohio history, have been indicted by a grand jury. Former CEO Charles "Chuck" Jones and former Vice President Michael Dowling are facing the charges for their alleged participation in a $60 million bribery scheme connected to the passage of a $1 billion taxpayer-funded bailout for two failing nuclear power plants. This is the first time that anyone from the company has faced criminal charges.
