South African govt deploy troops to to Eastern Congo.

The South African government has deployed 2,900 troops to eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) as part of a Southern African Development Community (SADC) initiative to combat armed groups in the region. The year-long deployment will cost an estimated 2 billion rand ($106 million), and the SADC force will work alongside troops from Malawi and Tanzania. The SADC troops have already been involved in operations against the M23 rebel group, which Congo accuses of being supported by neighboring Rwanda.
