SC DSS launches "SC Boo$t" pilot program with bonuses for underpaid early childhood education providers via American Rescue Plan Act funds.

The South Carolina Department of Social Services has launched a pilot program called "SC Boo$t" to tackle a high turnover rate in early childhood education. The program will provide bonuses of between $1,000 and $2,000 every six months to eligible childcare providers. This is funded by the American Rescue Plan Act, a federal program, and is aimed at providers making under $24 per hour and directors making less than $30 per hour.
