Canada's national accounting organization, CPA Canada, has laid off 20% of its workforce in preparation for the withdrawal of all its Ontario and Quebec members. This comes after CPA Ontario and CPA Quebec announced their intentions to end their formal relationship with CPA Canada last June, initiating an 18-month withdrawal process. The decision to lay off staff was made following a strategic review of the organization in response to the impending pullout.
