At the recent 74th graduation ceremony of Makerere University, 12,913 students received degrees and diplomas, while the country grapples with high youth unemployment rates. Some experts have called for the removal of national examinations and the disbandment of boarding schools, suggesting that university education is under threat. The economy is not creating enough jobs for the growing number of graduates, making it difficult for them to find employment.
