Tulsa woman Kristi Williams launches "Black History Saturdays" program to teach Black history independently due to Oklahoma's race and sex education limitations.

Kristi Williams, a Tulsa woman, has launched a free community education program called "Black History Saturdays" in response to Oklahoma's laws limiting the teaching of race and sex in schools. The program aims to educate individuals from pre-K to adults about Black history and takes place every second Saturday at Edurec Tulsa. The program runs from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., treats it like a school day, and offers breakfast and lunch. Several organizations including General Mills are providing funding support.
