Twenty-one Cowichan Lake-area homeowners have won $10.5 million in property assessment rollbacks. This has resulted in reduced property taxes for these homeowners, saving them thousands of dollars. Shelley Robinson, a resident, saw her home's assessed value decrease from $2.234 million to $1.056 million after appealing to the Property Assessment Appeal Board of B.C. She expects a tax refund of nearly $6,000.
