Conservationist Alex Foulkes, born in Edinburgh, aims to become co-leader of NZ's Green Party, replacing Labour as the left-of-centre party and representing the working class.

Alex Foulkes, a conservationist and Dunedin-based activist, is running for the position of co-leader of the Green Party. He aims to displace Labour as the main left-of-centre party and become the party of the working class. Foulkes has worked on various conservation projects worldwide, and currently works as a biodiversity lead for the Otago District Council. He was born in Edinburgh and moved to New Zealand in 2002.
