WWF-led Seagrass Ocean Rescue plants 1.2 million seagrass seeds in North Wales to revive meadows and support diverse marine life.

Seagrass Ocean Rescue, a project led by WWF in partnership with several organizations, began planting seagrass in North Wales to restore seagrass meadows and create a thriving habitat for diverse marine life. Utilizing 1.2 million seagrass seeds collected by local volunteers, the project will continue its restoration work at selected sites on the coast of Pen Llŷn and Ynys Môn this spring. The initiative aims to restore meadows at Penychain and Carreg y Defaid, with support from National Lottery players and a £1 million grant from the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
