Nebraska judge temporarily halts Omaha's public spaces gun ban during ongoing lawsuit.

A Nebraska judge has temporarily blocked a ban on guns in public spaces, such as parks and sidewalks, in Omaha while a lawsuit challenging the restriction proceeds. Douglas County District Judge LeAnne Srb issued a preliminary injunction, but refused to suspend Omaha's restrictions on "ghost guns" and bump stocks. The Liberty Justice Center filed the lawsuit on behalf of the Nebraska Firearms Owners Association, arguing that the city's restrictions violate a new state law allowing concealed gun carrying across Nebraska without a permit or a gun safety course.
