Gastonia police officer trapped between vehicles during Sherella Janice Dudley's arrest at Walmart, who was charged with assault on a government official, shoplifting, and damage to property.

A Gastonia police officer narrowly escaped injury during an arrest at a Walmart store when a suspect, Sherella Janice Dudley, attempted to leave the scene. Dudley, aged 31, was being issued a citation for larceny when she got into her car and hit another vehicle, wedging an officer in between the two. Other officers quickly arrived and arrested Dudley, who was later booked into the Gaston County Jail with a $20,000 secured bond. Dudley has been charged with assault on a government official, shoplifting, and damage to property.
