Cross-country skier Jessie Diggins won the 15-kilometer World Cup skiing event in Canmore, Alberta with a time of 40 minutes, 26 seconds, marking her fifth victory of the season. This comes just a week before the tour stops in her home state of Minnesota for the first time in 23 years. Diggins, who has previously helped the U.S. team win its first Olympic gold medal in cross-country skiing, has been advocating for a World Cup stop in Minneapolis, a goal that will be achieved during the races at Theodore Wirth Park on February 17-18.
