Canada Post plans a 7-cent stamp price increase (to 99 cents for booklets, etc.), also affecting other products, on May 6th, due to financial pressures from inflation and declining letter deliveries.

Canada Post is planning to increase the price of stamps by seven cents, raising the cost to 99 cents for stamps purchased in a booklet, coil, or pane, which account for the majority of sales. Stamps purchased individually would increase to $1.15 from $1.07 for domestic letters. Other products, including U.S., international letter-post, and domestic registered mail, will also be affected by the rate changes. The proposed price increase comes amidst financial pressures faced by Canada Post due to inflation and decreasing letter deliveries. The changes, subject to regulatory approvals, are expected to take effect on May 6th.
