SGL Carbon lays off 80 workers at Muir of Ord site in Scotland due to decreased wind turbine demand, GMB union links to stalled renewable energy employment.

SGL Carbon stated that the redeployed workers will be offered alternative roles, while the Scottish government plans to invest £500m in the wind sector over the next five years.
