Irish government funds €10m for 3rd-level courses for intellectually disabled students, starting 2024/25 academic year.

The Irish government has announced funding for third-level courses for students with intellectual disabilities. €10 million will be spread out over 10 different colleges, with an expected 150 students to enroll in the first year. The courses will range from one to two years in length and will offer specific supports. The ATU will receive funding for its Project WAVE, which integrates personal development with vocational and academic skills. These courses are set to commence in the 2024/25 academic year.
