Prime Minister Christopher Luxon announces Auckland Regional Fuel Tax end on June 30, providing financial relief to city's residents.

Prime Minister Christopher Luxon has announced that the Auckland Regional Fuel Tax will end on June 30th. The tax, which has been in place since July 2018, adds 11.5 cents per litre to the cost of fuel for Auckland residents, increasing the cost of living for the city's residents. Transport Minister Simeon Brown has confirmed that the tax will be repealed, with the Auckland Regional Fuel Tax scheme ending on June 30th, four years earlier than planned. The removal of this tax will provide financial relief to Aucklanders, with the driver of a Toyota Hilux saving around $9.20 every time they fill up, and a Toyota Corolla driver saving around $5.75.
