Kwame Kwei-Armah, the first African-Caribbean director to lead a major British theatre, has announced his departure as Young Vic's artistic director in the autumn. During his six-year tenure, he produced 40 shows and advocated for increased diversity within the industry and protection of the arts during the pandemic. He calls for government intervention to safeguard the future of British theatre and the arts. His final season at Young Vic includes the European premiere of 'Passing Strange' and the world premiere of 'A Face in the Crowd'.
