Julia Turner, L.A. Times executive, resigns, becoming the fourth high-ranking editor to leave since early January.

Julia Turner, who previously led culture and entertainment coverage for the Los Angeles Times and then took on a business strategy role, has announced her resignation from the paper. Turner is the fourth high-ranking editor to leave since early January. Her departure comes just over two weeks after Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong, the paper's owner, appointed Terry Tang as interim executive editor following the sudden departure of Kevin Merida. Tang has since sought to stabilize the newsroom, which has experienced about 115 layoffs and several high-profile departures. Turner has joined USC Annenberg's Communication Leadership & Policy as a senior fellow.
