Google Play Protect tests fraud-blocking feature for apps with sensitive permissions from internet-sideloading sources in Singapore.

Google is testing a new financial fraud protection feature for Google Play Protect. This feature will automatically block the installation of apps that may use sensitive runtime permissions frequently abused for financial fraud when a user attempts to install the app from an internet-sideloading source. The pilot has begun with some users in Singapore. The enhanced fraud protection feature aims to analyze and block the installation of apps that misuse sensitive permissions.
