Gabby Douglas, the 2012 Olympic all-around gymnastics champion, has announced her return to competition after a near eight-year hiatus.
The 28-year-old gymnast, who made history as the first Black woman to win the Olympic title, will participate in the Winter Cup in Louisville, Kentucky on February 24.
Douglas, a three-time Olympic gold medalist, took a break from gymnastics after the 2016 Rio de Janeiro games but returned to training in 2022 with the hope to make the 2024 Olympic team.
