Michael Coachman, a former statewide candidate and U.S. Air Force veteran, has announced an independent campaign to run for the position of North Dakota governor. Coachman, who has unsuccessfully run for various state offices in the past, plans to focus on restoring individual liberties, following the Bible and the North Dakota and U.S. Constitutions, reducing government intervention, and banning out-of-country land ownership. Current Republican Governor Doug Burgum is not seeking a third term.
