China opened its fifth Antarctic research station, Qinling Station, located south of Australia and New Zealand, on Inexpressible Island.

China's Ross Sea scientific research station, known as Qinling, has been inaugurated in the Antarctic region south of Australia and New Zealand. The station, which can house up to 80 people during the summer months, is situated near the U.S. McMurdo station. Chinese President Xi Jinping has sent a congratulatory letter on the completion of the Qinling Station, marking the country's fifth research station in Antarctica.
