Swiss study finds no impact on meat quality when pigs consume food waste, including chocolate, pasta, and cereals, in place of 30% grain.

The agricultural research centre, Agroscope, has found that feeding pigs food waste does not affect the quality of the meat produced. The study, run in conjunction with the University of Milan, replaced 30% of the grain in pigs' feed with either savoury or sweet foods, with the pigs remaining in good health throughout the trial period. The findings offer a promising solution to reducing food waste, as well as maintaining meat quality.
