UK government increases EV charging grants for schools and proposes more local authority funding for chargepoints.

The UK government is stepping up its efforts to expand the electric vehicle (EV) charging network. Measures being launched today include grants for state-funded schools, cash for councils, and new proposals to increase the number of chargepoints. Schools, colleges, nurseries, and academies will have access to grants covering up to 75% of the costs of buying and installing chargers, up from the previous £350 limit. Additionally, the government has set out proposals to ensure that chargepoints can be installed even faster, with five more local authorities set to receive funding for local chargepoints.
