Stellantis plans Mirafiori plant stoppages, cuts electric Fiat 500 and Maserati production, affecting 2,250 workers; denies merger with Renault.

Stellantis plans to reduce operations at its Mirafiori plant in Turin due to weak demand for its Fiat 500 electric car and Maserati models. The stoppages will last until March 30 and add to the furlough of about 2,250 workers. Stellantis Chairman John Elkann denies speculation of a merger with French carmaker Renault, stating no plans for mergers with other manufacturers are under consideration.
