Sapporo Snow Festival reopens in Hokkaido.
The Sapporo Snow Festival, one of Japan's largest winter events, opened in Hokkaido on February 4 without any COVID-related restrictions for the first time in four years.
Around 190 snow and ice sculptures are on display at three venues in the city, with the main venue, Odori Park, featuring a 12-meter tall snow sculpture based on characters from the popular manga series, Golden Kamuy.
Food stands have returned to the festival after being canceled during the pandemic.
This year's event continues until February 11.
