President Dr Arif Alvi of Pakistan upheld the dismissal from service penalty imposed on a bank manager, Muhammad Munir Akhtar, who was found guilty of sexually harassing a female colleague at work. The president rejected Akhtar's representation and emphasized the importance of creating a safe working environment for women, free of harassment, abuse, and intimidation, as per the Protection against Harassment of Women at Workplace Act 2010.
